For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
Beloved of God:
In keeping with the latest information provided by government and medical authorities, Affinity Missionary Baptist Church will continue to refrain from public gatherings at least through May 31st. Please join us at 10:00 AM at affinitymbc.org, the Affinity App, Facebook, or YouTube for this Sunday’s Service.
While we have experienced technical difficulties in earlier broadcast, our volunteers and staff are working hard to make needed corrections to improve viewer and interactive experiences with our online services. It is our utmost goal to remain connected with our members and friends during this critical moment. To that end:
• We will continue to broadcast on the sites mentioned above each Sunday at 10:00 AM and on Facebook each Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
• Our pantry will continue to operate on 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month to ensure that our members and community have needed food.
• Our ministers and deacons continue to reach out to members through phone calls. Our office staff continues to monitor our phones and mail on a daily basis. Our Trustees continue to make biweekly deposits of your mailed offerings. Offerings given through our website and app are deposited daily. Thank you for your continued generosity.
• On May 3rd, we will publish a schedule of online and telephone small group meetings to keep us connected to one another and Christ’s Church.
Through all of this, God is calling us to a deeper understanding of what it means to “gather in His name.” Christ declared in Matthew 18:20, “Where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” That promise has less to do with numbers and more to do with purpose. Likewise, our gathering has less to do with four walls or an address and has everything to do with making sure that, however we gather, we gather to lift the name of Jesus — who is the Christ!
