Pastor ** "Artwork Titled :Past Times” by KERRY JAMES MARSHALL Kerry James Marshall is a contemporary artist from Birmingham, Alabama. Kerry Marshall shines light on black culture and tries to depict African-Americans in a positive and glorious way in all his paintings. He uses beautiful, bold and bright colors to bring his work to life and bring excitement to his viewers. His painting "Past Times" depicts a black family doing leisure activities and enjoying fellowship. “Past Times” sold at Sotheby’s for $21.3 Million Dollars, making him the most expensive African American artist alive to date at auction. As is our custom to highlight African American art in our lobby during African American History Month, conditions have forced us to present a virtual art exhibit this year. We will showcase a new artist each week. Enjoy.
